Mary Newburn has been helping high school students and families with the college admissions process since 2001, and founded Vista Educational Consulting LLC in 2007.

Mary holds an A.B. from Princeton University, and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Mary takes a holistic approach to helping students, focusing on their existing talents and capabilities, assisting them in finding schools that are the right fit, and ensuring their preparedness for the college application process.

Mary’s professional experience is the perfect blend for college counseling, and spans┬áboth business and education. Mary worked in the Office of the President and Provost at Harvard University for nearly two years, during Lawrence Summers’ tenure as President.

In addition to her work helping families with college admissions, she is a past president of the Auxiliary Board of the Chicago Children’s Museum and past president of the Princeton Club of Chicago. Aside from helping high school students with the college admissions process, she is a former Division I basketball player from Princeton who loves cooking and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
